If you’ve held off on playing Shin Megami Tensei 5 since its launch for the Nintendo Switch in 2021, your patience is set to be rewarded. Not only is the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance set to bring Atlus’ acclaimed RPG to non-Switch platforms, it will also bring with it a truckload of new content in the form of a new playable character, over 75 hours of additional gameplay, and much more. Also included in that deluge of additions is a host of new music- which, of course, is always a crucial part of Atlus-developed games.

In fact, as confirmed by composer Ryota Kozuka in a recent interview with GameSpot, about 80% of the original Shin Megami Tensei 5’s entire soundtrack has been redone for its upcoming expanded re-release, while about 20 new battle themes have also been added.

“For Vengeance, we actually re-did about 80% of the songs that were in SMT 5,” Kozuka said. “We naturally ended up with that number of songs after creating songs that we thought were necessary for this work. We also created about 20 new battle themes.”

Atlus recently announced Atlus Fes, an in-person event scheduled to take place in Tokyo on June 8 and June 9, where the company will showcase playable demos for Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance and Metaphor: ReFantazio, which is also due out later this year.

Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance launches on June 14 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
