Last week, the Helldivers 2 community was successful in carrying out the mission of completely decimating the Automaton faction, leaving many to wonder where the game would go from here. As many predicted, things are only going to get worse from here.
Super Earth has cut its celebrations short with the sudden return of the Automatons. The previous forces that players beat, it turns out, were just the faction’s vanguard, and now the bots have unleashed a massive fleet on their homeworld of Cyberstan and surrounding planets.
Arrowhead Game Studios has thus issued a new Major Order for players to focus on that commands Helldivers to “hold back this unprovoked invasion”.
“A massive Automaton fleet, built in secret, has overrun multiple planets in the Valdis sector,” the Major Order reads. “The previous bot force was merely a vanguard- as suspected all along. The Helldivers are ordered to hold back this invasion.”
The Major Order also comes with the new Evacuate High-Value Assets mission type. Meanwhile, a new Warbond is set to go live on April 11, bringing new weapons, emotes, and more.
Helldivers 2 is available on PS5 and PC.
Somehow, the Automatons returned.
