Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is one of the best 3D platformers in recent memory, but there’s been strangely little information out there on how the game has performed from a commercial perspective. Activision hasn’t ever provided any sales figures for the title- though one developer’s LinkedIn profile may have revealed new details on that front.

As spotted by Twitter user @bogorad222, on his LinkedIn profile, Toby Schadt – who’s the design director at Crash 4 developer Toys for Bob – has mentioned that the game has sold over 5 million units to date (screencap below). The only sales-related numbers that have been reported for the game in the past were estimates that it had sold over 402,000 digital units in its launch month of October 2020.

In our review of the game, we awarded it a score of 9/10, saying, “Firing on all levels, and missing on practically none, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is a must play for everyone.” Read the full review through here.

Earlier this year, Toys for Bob laid off a sizeable portion of its staff as part of wider job cuts implemented by Activision Blizzard’s new parent company, Microsoft. Shortly afterward, it was announced that the studio was separating from Activision and once again going independent.

Recently, it was reported that Toys for Bob had once again partnered with Microsoft for the development of its next game, which reportedly is a new Spyro title.
